Who Am I?

My name is Eric Muñoz Jr.

I’m a husband, dad, and all-around dreamer who discovered that God can turn our deepest valleys into the ultimate training ground for heroes. My life’s work? Helping people see that no matter how low you feel, or how broken, you’re never too far gone for God’s presence.

My Journey

so Far

An Early Start

I stumbled into ministry when I was 12. (Not exactly your average teen pastime, right?) I had no idea what I was doing, but apparently God did. My leaders needed someone “mature” to help with a youth class, and there I was...a random kid, suddenly in front of other kids, talking about Jesus. To everyone’s surprise (including mine!), the group took off. Friends invited friends, and before I knew it, I was learning to lead and teach in ways I never imagined. It wasn’t always sunshine and rainbows, but that’s when I first realized God can use anyone—especially the young and unpolished—to make a real impact.

Living Room Ministry is the Best Ministry

I’ve spent over 15 years leading small groups in—believe it or not—my mom’s living room. Picture 50+ teens crammed on couches, stairs, and floors, all hungry to learn about Jesus. We laughed, cried, prayed, saw baptisms, weddings, and new believers light up with hope. I’m not famous, but I’ve learned that real ministry doesn’t need a big stage. It happens when everyday people open their homes and hearts to each other. That’s where genuine life change occurs—over time, in the messy, beautiful realness of community.

Surviving My Valleys

Fast-forward a few years: We were in the first stages of a church plant that seemed full of promise…but it collapsed just as quickly. The fallout threw me into a tailspin of depression, shame, and frustration with church life. I nearly lost my brand-new marriage in the process. Ever been there? Where everything you’ve poured your heart into just falls apart?

But here’s the thing about valleys: God’s right there, even when we don’t see Him. Out of that rubble, He led me to a place of healing and showed me that these painful seasons can shape us like nothing else can. Two years later, I was back in ministry, sharing a message called Valley of the Heroic, all about how God lifts us in our lowest moments to forge a deeper purpose than we ever thought possible.

Sooooo...
What is Valley of the Heroic?

At its core, Valley of the Heroic is about finding God right in the middle of your pain. Because as much as we all want to climb that mountain, it’s often the valleys; those lonely, broken places, that shape us most. It’s inspired by verses like Luke 3:4-6 and Isaiah 40:1-5, reminding us that “every valley shall be filled” and that we can prepare the way for the Lord, even in our darkest deserts. As I like to say:

“God makes heroes in caves and valleys because no valley is too deep for God’s presence.”

It’s about embracing the truth that God can turn our mess into our greatest message—if we let Him.

A Quick Note on Credentials

I’ve been in ministry for over two decades, have led small groups for 15+ years, and even studied religion formally (with a Bachelor’s Degree and hopefully soon restarting my Masters in Ministry. But to me, these are just footnotes. What matters most is seeing how God uses our brokenness to bring hope, healing, and transformation to others—no PhD required.
